The Fitch goes West: The SAA’s Albuquerque
Between the 10th and 14th of April, Evangelia Kiriatzi and Bartek Lis participated in the Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology, held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During a Saturday session entitled “The movement of technical knowledge: cross-craft perspectives on mobility and knowledge in production technologies”, organised by Louise Iles (Sheffield University) and Carmen Ting (University of Cyprus), Bartek presented a paper “From local to regional technological landscapes – the mobility of Aeginetan potters” co-authored by Evangelia Kiriatzi and Noémi Müller. While Evangelia, together with David Killick (Universtiy of Arizona), was a discussant for the entire session. Both the paper and the discussion were positively received. The session brought together researchers from Europe and USA working on mobility and craft production in areas stretching from Central and Southern America to South-Eastern Asia.
