2023 Greek Numismatics Course for postgraduate students
Today concludes the 2023 Greek Numismatics Course, organised by the British School at Athens and directed by Professor Clare Rowan and Dr Mairi Gkikaki from the University of Warwick.
Ten postgraduate students from various UK and EU universities spend two weeks in Athens and the surrounding areas, studying and learning about coinage. They visited various museums, archaeological sites, private collections, and were taught by experts in the field.
We were delighted to have them all in the BSA these past two weeks, and we hope to see them again very soon!
The Greek Numismatics course is two-week training course for postgraduate students that provides hands-on experience of working with coins, both for those new to the subject and for those who wish to further their interest. It normally runs every two years and the next is scheduled to take place in spring 2025.
