Welcome to our MSCA CZ fellow
We are delighted to welcome Dr Petra Tušlová to the BSA for the MCSA Fellowship CZ, who has joined us from Charles University in Prague for the next 2 years.
Starting in February 2025, Petra Tušlová will be undertaking an MSCA CZ Fellowship #opjak at the Fitch Laboratory at the British School at Athens and at the Archaeometry Research Group of the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. Her two-year project, Transfer of Technology: Exploring Pottery Manufacture and Trade in Roman Thrace, will focus on examining pottery production from the 2nd to the 4th centuries AD in the Yambol District, Bulgaria. The study will analyze different pottery groups from her case study site, the rural vicus of Yurta-Stroyno, primarily using ceramic petrography and elemental composition analysis. The results will be complimented and compared with several other pottery assemblages from the region. The project’s goal is to characterise local pottery production, reconstruct manufacturing techniques, identify production areas, and trace the movement of different wares throughout the region.
We wish Petra well for the fellowship and are looking forward to working with her over the next two years – “Καλή αρχή!”
