The BSA is open to individuals with a range of interests related to the School’s mission through a variety of routes. Readers can use the library Monday to Friday during office hours, while Members of the School enjoy 24-hour access to all of its library facilities, use of the Finlay common room, and the ability to book accommodation in the Hostel. Membership is also necessary for those who wish to apply for permits through the School to work on archaeological material in Greece. A discounted rate for student members is available.
Supporters are a central part of the BSA community, which has been sustained by philanthropy throughout its 130-year history. They take an active role in the School, a registered charity, and enjoy a tailored event programme of lectures, trips and museum visits. The tiers of Supporters include the Friends of the BSA, the Pendlebury Circle, and the Director’s Circle. There is a discounted Supporter rate for students. Donors make gifts to help the BSA in its work, or can leave a Legacy in their will. The School looks to build on its rich tradition of philanthropic support which plays a vital role in its continuing work and growth.
Please note: Supporters must also sign up as Members if they wish to use the BSA facilities in Athens or Knossos.
