As Assistant Administrator I am responsible for preparing permit applications for BSA fieldwork projects and for study permits by individual BSA members to the Greek Ministry of Culture as well as assisting BSA members in their contacts with the Greek Ministry of Culture and the Greek academic community.
I received a BA in History and Archaeology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an MA in Prehistoric Archaeology from the University of Crete, an MSc in Human Osteology and Funerary Archaeology from the University of Sheffield and a PhD in Prehistoric Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I specialize in the excavation of mortuary deposits and the laboratory analysis of commingled human remains. My research interests lie primarily in prehistoric mortuary practices, funerary taphonomy, archaeothanatology, modes of pre- and post-burial body manipulation and bone histology. I have participated as an osteoarchaeologist in several research projects led by National and International Institutions and I was employed as a contract osteoarchaeologist for almost five years in the Greek Archaeological Service. I am currently involved as a scientific associate in the TEFRA research project, directed by Associate Professor Sevasti Triantaphyllou.
