‘A Greek Ballad’ is the first collection in English of the renowned Greek poet Michális Ganás, translated by David Connolly and Joshua Barley and published by Yale University Press.
On the evening there will be readings in Greek from the poet himself and in English from Joshua Barley, who will introduce the book. There will also be the opportunity for discussion with both poet and translator.
We will be joined by the musicians Michalis and Pantelis Kalogerakis, who will perform their own settings of Ganás’s poetry.
The book will be available at the THE BOOK LOFT bookstore (Patriarchou Ioakeim 44, 10675 Athens, tel. 210 7210447) from Friday 6 December.
