The BSA provides on-site accommodation for Members studying in Athens and Knossos.
The BSA’s Athens premises are set in a large, secluded garden adjoining the American School of Classical Studies at Athens in the central Kolonaki district, close to the Evangelismos Metro station and a 10 minute walk to Syntagma Square. Up to 20 Members can be accommodated in 10 single and 5 twin rooms. Breakfast is provided each morning, and tea and coffee are also available throughout the day. Residents have access to the Finlay common room, a large self-catering kitchen, and a laundry room.
The Hostel is closed to members for one month during the Undergraduate Summer School and annual maintenance work generally available from mid-August to mid-September.

Accommodation is also available at Knossos for members whose research takes them to Crete. The ‘Taverna’, situated in its own gardens close to the Villa Ariadne, contains 6 bedrooms (4 double and 2 single), a self-catering kitchen, and a comfortable saloni. Bathroom facilities are sited in an adjoining block.

UK-based: members who are currently affiliated with an institution in the UK, or who are holders of BSA studentships, fellowships, those participating in BSA excavations and surveys, and participants in BSA courses.
Residents staying longer than 20 continuous days at the Athens Hostel will be charged a discounted rate of £25 per night (UK-based) or £36 per night (non-UK based).
